Product Details: The Guardian of light table lamp from Pallucco has been designed by Susanne Phillippson in 2006. This table mounted luminaire is great for halogen lighting. The Guardian of light is constructed of a polycarbonate shade which is available in black, aluminum grey or white. Liquid rubber coated metal makes up the structure of this fixture, which is also available in a black, white or aluminum grey finish. The Guardian of Light looks like a classic lampshade until it is switched on, at which point you realize that the classical form conceals an innovative idea: the shade is a cloak that wraps around itself, keeping the magic of the light secret. When the cloak is opened, by means of the protruding flap, the lamp gently releases its light, which goes out again when the cloak is closed. The lamp has a “soft start” feature so that it can be switched on and off automatically when the shade is opened and closed.
